In the fast-paced, ever-evolving world of creative work, one constant remains: the undeniable impact of great leadership.
Working in a creative agency isn’t just about generating ideas or meeting deadlines—it’s about thriving in an environment where your potential is recognised, challenged, and developed. For me, that environment comes alive through my role of curating internal campaigns, often in the form of videos that reflect our culture, values, and vision. These aren’t just “nice-to-have” pieces of content—they are an essential part of keeping our team connected, motivated, and aligned.
On a daily basis, my work involves far more than simply pressing the “record” button. It begins with conceptualising campaign ideas—identifying themes that resonate with our internal culture, align with leadership’s vision, and support the agency’s current goals. This could mean creating content for a quarterly team-building initiative, celebrating milestone achievements, or highlighting personal stories that reveal the human side of our work.
From there, I plan and storyboard each campaign, collaborating closely with different departments to gather insights and ensure every voice is represented. Pre-production tasks—such as scouting locations within the office, preparing equipment, and setting up lighting and sound—are woven into my daily routine.
Once the cameras roll, I’m not just filming—I’m capturing authentic moments: a breakthrough during a brainstorming session, a burst of laughter behind the scenes, or a leader delivering an inspiring message.
My role is to translate leadership’s vision into a visual story that everyone in the agency can connect with.
Post-production is where the story truly takes shape. I spend hours editing footage, refining the pacing, and adding graphics or music to amplify the emotional impact. Every cut is made with intention, carefully considering how it will make the viewer feel, ensuring the final piece inspires action, pride, or unity. Once complete, I collaborate with internal communications to distribute the videos so they reach the right people at the right time.
What makes this work truly fulfilling is the leadership I work under. There’s a unique kind of magic in being guided by individuals who have not only walked the creative path but helped shape the industry itself. Their vision and insight don’t just give direction—they reflect your own strengths back to you, helping you uncover talents you never knew you had.
Strong, visionary leadership has shown me that great leaders don’t overshadow their teams—they illuminate them. They create space for creativity to flourish, encourage collaboration, and celebrate growth. My work becomes a direct extension of that leadership, ensuring their values and inspiration reach every corner of the agency through the campaigns I produce.
In a creative environment, where ideas are the currency and authenticity is everything, these internal campaigns serve as the heartbeat of the agency—keeping us inspired, connected, and focused on delivering our best. Great leadership doesn’t just guide projects—it shapes people. And in my role, I have the privilege of capturing that shaping process and transforming it into stories that move us forward.
